Program Description
In an era in which every issue has global repercussions (economic, political, environmental, social), it’s vital to have professionals trained in foreign languages and familiar with foreign cultures. As a student in UCSB's Italian Studies major, you’ll be trained to be one of these professionals while benefiting from a highly personalized and flexible program of study. In addition to the interdisciplinary curriculum offered on campus, you’ll be able to apply to spend up to one year in Italy, either through the Education Abroad Program (EAP) or through other approved US university programs. Majoring or double majoring in Italian Studies can lead to a career in international relations, the foreign service, international law or business, travel and tourism, communication, journalism, teaching, and many other fields.
